JDDA is an award-winning landscape design studio located in Greenwich, CT. Our passions lie in creating meaningful and memorable landscapes for residential clients. Our work is diverse and found throughout the U.S. and abroad, with project scopes ranging from intimate urban rooftops to rural country farms, waterfront homes, and sprawling estates.
Our team is comprised of landscape architects and designers with unique backgrounds and interests. Our tailored design process seeks to create solutions informed by architectural context and site history while remaining ecologically sensitive. We engage with a dedicated team of affiliated professionals—including architects, landscape contractors, and environmental consultants—to design and implement a shared vision.
The Roles
We are seeking experienced, highly motivated Landscape Architects or Designers to join our collaborative studio at both the Project (4+ years) and Senior (8+ years) levels. In these roles, you will take ownership of complex residential projects from concept to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
Project Management & Leadership: Drive the daily progress of multiple complex residential projects, managing schedules, deliverables, and budgets. Senior candidates will take a lead role from initial pre-design phases through project administration, taking on the additional responsibility of managing associated staff.
Design & Innovation: Develop forward-thinking and ecologically sensitive design solutions. Project candidates will partner closely with Principals and Senior Designers, while Senior candidates will take the lead in conceptualizing landscapes that integrate site context, architecture, and complex structural elements.
Detailed Documentation: Draft and oversee the development of high-quality plans, moving from schematic design through rigorous custom construction detailing.
Consultant & Client Coordination: Act as a primary point of contact for external collaborators, including architects, civil and structural engineers, specialized fabricators, and municipal boards. Senior candidates will also manage direct relationships with clients.
Construction Administration: Conduct site visits, write reports, review submittals and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and collaborate directly with landscape contractors to ensure the design intent is executed to the highest standard.
Team Mentorship: Support, guide, and mentor junior designers in the production of presentation graphics, 3D models, and construction document sets, contributing to the studio's culture of continuous learning and creative excellence.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA or MLA).
Experience:4+ years for the Project level, or 8+ years for the Senior level. Professional experience within high-end residential design is strongly preferred.
Design: A strong design portfolio that showcases your creativity, spatial understanding, and construction documentation skills.
Technical skills: Fluency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude. Ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects.
Bonus Assets: Knowledge of 3D rendering software (Rhino and Lumion), a deep passion for horticulture, and professional licensure (PLA).
A Commitment to Your Growth
We invest in our team. We offer a highly competitive compensation package and an environment that actively supports your professional development.
Compensation: Excellent salary and performance-based incentives.
Benefits: Vacation and personal time, plus 10 paid holidays.
Health Coverage: 100% Employer-Funded Health Insurance, plus an HSA with employer contributions.
